Henry and first meeting with Jacqueline[]
Captain Laurent is sent by Henry's father, King Francis, to get Henry when he resists the arranged marriage decision who, at night, intends to run away to Genoa. He apprehended Henry, who meets Leonardo da Vinci, telling him Henry is arranged to be married off to the Princess Gabriella of Spain.
On the way back to the castle with the Royal Guard and Leonardo da Vinci, Henry stops at the manor where Danielle lives to return the horse he stole. He soon takes notice in Jacqueline de Ghent, especially when Jacqueline shoves the feather into the front of her dress, causing Captain Laurent to snigger.
Meeting Jacqueline again at the Ball[]
At the ball, he hangs around the food table and meets Jacqueline again, who is also wearing a horse mask. When Danielle appears, he is seen with Jacqueline, which is pleased to see her. He is also horrified when Rodmilla causes the Prince to reject Danielle.
