Nicole de Lancret was the first wife of Auguste de Barbarac and the biological mother of Danielle de Barbarac.

Early Life and Death[]
Not much is revealed about Nicole's early life. It is possible she presumably came from a wealthy family, based on the condition of her wedding gown and slippers, which is now Danielle's wedding dowry. She married Auguste de Barbarac in either 1493 or 1494, but they were probably not married for long because Nicole died while giving birth to their first and only child, Danielle.

While she does not physically appear in the film, she is mentioned several times by some of the characters, notably her daughter Danielle, Louise, Paulette, and Maurice. They all agreed that she looks like her, especially dressed as a courtier for the first time and in her wedding dowry on the night of the ball.
